Water restrictions update:

This week the Junta de Andalucia announced residential communities in Malaga have finally been given the green light for swimming pools to be filled from 1st June. The drought remains severe however, and both residents and visitors must be conservative with water. Restrictions have been set between 200 to 225 litres per day per person, but it is indeed good news for visitors to the province this summer season.

The mayor of Estepona, Jose Maria Garcia Urbano, has announced that the City Council will authorize the filling of community and private swimming pools this summer. After the latest rains "which have placed the water capacity of the region at levels similar to those recorded last year", and the new municipal infrastructure works that are being promoted to incorporate up to 16,300 cubic meters per day into the network, "it is possible allow the use of the swimming pools of urbanizations and individuals during the summer season”.
